I am the kind of minister who knows that she is not perfect and resists being put on a pedestal. I believe that God wants us to be happy, and happiness can come only when we are not violating another. I am Christian. I am non-denominational. God would not let me rest until I accepted and claimed my call to ordained ministry.

My passions are reading, writing, speaking, and stretching beyond my limits. As founder of Sankofa Way, I used my passions to build an organization dedicated to providing safe space for all to explore, question, and change. In my first book, Your Neighbor Has AIDS, I offered practical guidance for the caregivers of people living with HIV/AIDS. This book has since become the foundation for workshops, trainings, and online resources. My upcoming book, A Call to Action: HIV/AIDS & You gives practical guidance on how to move past fear, judgment, and ignorance without abandoning your personal belief system.
My M.Div. is from Union Theological Seminary in New York. I have two years post-degree training in CPE, trauma, and domestic violence.

I love living in Chicago, when it's summer, and my greatest joys are spending time with my family, and being part of the power that is generated when we make heart to heart connections.
